We recently spoke with the UK's Dance "Queen of Giddah" Rani Bathinda for an exclusive question interview!. She features in the music video "Ghaint Patola" by Offlicence as she talks about her influences, her memorable perfomances, Malkit Singh, life as a Giddah dancer & more!

01. When did you first decide to start dancing?
I first decided to dance as a profession 7 years ago
02. Who influenced you when you were small?
I had alot of influences, most of them were singers, not many dancers- but people like, Kuldeep Manak Ji, Surinder & Prakash Kaur, Narinder Biba Ji, people like that.
03. What sort of dance did you start with?
I've always wanted to do giddha and giddha was the first dance I started with
04. What is the strangest place you have danced?
The strangest place I've ever performed was in a forest :)
05. What is your favourite Song to Dance to?
My favourite old song to dance to would be Ghund Vich by Jagmohan Kaur, or Shudai by Amar Noori, my new song to dance to is GHAINT PATOLA!
06. Apart from dancing, What do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy singing and I like to be busy so I quite enjoy working
07. If you had to choose one kind of dance, what would it be?
GIDDHA ALL THE WAY!
08. If you were an animal, what would you choose to be?
I'd chose to be Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Baaj :)
09. What is your most memorable performance/show as a dancer?
My most memorable performance would probably be my first ever performance or my performance with Malkit Singh in Spain.
10. Do you think that in ten years females in the UK will continue to Giddah dance?
Yes! Giddha will continue forever! :)
11. We have come to the end of the questions, do you have a message or anything you wish to those reading?
I'd like to say, especially to the youngsters- to learn to read and write in punjabi and keep our strong amazing culture hyped. Also remember- GHAINT PATOLA! :)
